We put up a hummingbird feeder during our Saturday work day in July. I spotted our first hummingbird by that very next Monday. We've been seeing them regularly ever since.
Of course, the hard part is trying to photograph one with a basic digital camera.
The students feel so lucky when their class happens to be in the lab and a hummingbird visits outside our window. These students have learned about different animal structures and how they contribute to survival. They are discussing the shape of the hummingbird's beak.
Thank you so much for your hospitality as we visited your school today! Your science class was wonderful and the garden very impressive!
